  • Hester Peirce
    SEC Commissioner
    Hester M. Peirce was appointed by President Donald J. Trump to the U.S. Securities and Exchange Commission and was sworn in on January 11, 2018.

    Prior to joining the SEC, Commissioner Peirce conducted research on the regulation of financial markets at the Mercatus Center at George Mason University. She was a Senior Counsel on the U.S. Senate Committee on Banking, Housing, and Urban Affairs, where she advised Ranking Member Richard Shelby and other members of the Committee on securities issues. Commissioner Peirce served as counsel to SEC Commissioner Paul S. Atkins. She also worked as a Staff Attorney in the SEC’s Division of Investment Management. Commissioner Peirce was an associate at Wilmer, Cutler & Pickering (now WilmerHale) and clerked for Judge Roger Andewelt on the Court of Federal Claims.

    Commissioner Peirce earned her bachelor’s degree in Economics from Case Western Reserve University and her JD from Yale Law School.
  • Adam White
    President, Bakkt
    Adam White is President of Bakkt, a regulated, global ecosystem for digital assets. In this role, he is responsible for the strategic direction, P&L, and day-to-day operations for the Company. White joined Bakkt in November 2018 as a founding executive. He previously served as Vice President & General Manager of Coinbase. He joined Coinbase in 2013 as the fifth employee, originally leading business development and strategy and later their exchange and institutional products. Prior to Coinbase, White tested experimental aircraft as a Captain in the United States Air Force and is a veteran of Iraq and Afghanistan. He has testified before Congress as an expert in the blockchain and cryptocurrency industry. White received his Master of Business Administration from Harvard Business School and his Bachelor of Science in Optical Engineering from the University of California, Davis.
  • Will Warren
    Co-Founder/CEO, 0x
    Will Warren is Co-founder and CEO at 0x where he is developing public infrastructure for peer-to-peer exchange on the Ethereum blockchain. After receiving a B.S. in Mechanical Engineering from UC San Diego, Will worked as a graduate research assistant at Los Alamos National Laboratory conducting applied physics research. Will spent two years in UCSan Diego’s Structural Engineering doctoral program before dropping out to pursue an interest in Ethereum full time.
  • Daniel Vogel
    Co-Founder/CEO, BitSo
    Daniel is the Co-founder of BitSo.Previously he built Quantcast’s Real Time Bidding system, which became the company’s main revenue-generating product-line.Daniel holds two degrees from Stanford (BA in Economics, BS in Computer Systems Engineering) and an MBA from Harvard Business School.

    Co-Founder/CEO Alchemy
    Nikil is the cofounder and CEO of Alchemy, a developer platform that empowers companies to build scalable and reliable decentralized applications. A serial entrepreneur, he co-founded the #1 social app in the world and has been featured in international media including a New York Times Business cover story, Forbes, Business Insider, and TechCrunch. He has been honored as Forbes 30 under 30, formerly did product management at Facebook, Google, and Microsoft. Nikil graduated with both an undergraduate and master’s degree in computer science and artificial intelligence from Stanford University.
  • Ruitao Su
    Co-Founder, Acala Network
    Ruitao Su is the co-founder of Acala. He is also co-founder and CEO of Laminar – a leading synthetic asset and margin trading platform. Ruitao has led design & development of state-of-art token economic models including the decentralized Sovereign Wealth Fund (dSWF), led multiple successful token generation events, as well as founded several technology startups.
  • Tyler Spalding
    Co-Founder, Flexa
    Tyler Spalding is Co-Founder of Flexa, a blockchain payments company based in New York City. He has been preaching/mining/coding cryptocurrencies since 2011. Tyler was also the Chief Technology Officer at Raise, the world’s largest gift card marketplace with over $1B in sales and $150M in venture funding. WIth over 20 years of experience in building technology, he has founded and sold three software companies, and is an active seed-stage investor in 25+ startups. He has authored more than 50 technology patents, and held faculty positions in Aerospace Engineering at two universities. Tyler is also a proud former engineer for the United Space Alliance, the United States Air Force, NASA Mars Crew Module, and the NASA Space Shuttle Program.
  • Roneil Rumburg
    Co-Founder/CEO, Audius
    Roneil most recently co-founded Kleiner Perkins’ early-stage seed fund. At KP, he was responsible for seed investments into Blockchain and AI companies, including Lightning Labs. Roneil attended Stanford University and previously co-founded a Bitcoin peer to peer payment company called Backslash.
  • Elizabeth Rossiello
    Co-Founder/CEO, BitPesa
    Elizabeth is the CEO and founder of BitPesa, a digital foreign exchange and payment platform for frontier markets. Founded in 2013, BitPesa was the first company to leverage digital currency to significantly lower the cost of making remittance and business payments to and from sub-Saharan Africa, as well as the first blockchain company to be licensed by the UK’s Financial Conduct Authority. Elizabeth expanded the company from Nairobi, Kenya to operations in 10 markets across Africa and Europe. Before founding BitPesa, Elizabeth was a rating analyst for microfinance institutions across sub-Saharan Africa, consulting for Grameen Foundation, Gates Foundation and the Acumen Fund, as well as working with regulators and policy-makers on legislation for financial innovations. Elizabeth sits on the Investment Committee for Bamboo Capital and is nominated as a Technology Pioneer for the World Economic Forum for 2018. She holds an M.A. in International Business and Finance from Columbia University.

    Illia is the co-founder of NEAR protocol. He has more than 10 years of industry experience, including 3 years at Google where he was a major TensorFlow contributor and a manager of the team building question answering capabilities for the core Google search.
  • Fernando Martinelli
    CEO, Balancer
    Fernando Martinelli is the Chief Executive Officer (CEO) of Balancer, a cryptocurrency that allows users to generate private or shared public liquidity pools while enjoying flexible premium and swap charges. Fernando has worked at several startups, including PrepLounge in 2014, Brasil Mate also in 2014, and then Balancer in January 2019. Before these startups, Fernando worked at Honda Research Institute Europe GmbH in 2010 and Bain & Company.
  • Matthew Liu
    Co-Founder, Origin Protocol
    Matt Liu is the cofounder of Origin Protocol, a protocol for creating sharing economy marketplaces, empowering developers and businesses to build decentralized marketplaces on the blockchain. Prior to Origin, Matt was the 3rd PM at YouTube (acquired by Google) and VP PM at Qwiki (acquired by Yahoo) and Bonobos (acquired by Walmart). He holds an MS in Management Science and a BS in Electrical Engineering from Stanford.

    Co-Founder, Compound
    Robert Leshner is the co-founder of Compound, an open-source interest rate protocol that is built on Ethereum. In 2011, he also co-founded Safe Shepherd, a personal-information opt-out service for consumers. He is Chartered Financial Analyst and holds a Bachelor’s degree in Economics from the University of Pennsylvania.
  • Evan Kuo
    CEO, Ampleforth
    Evan is the CEO and co-founder of Ampleforth. He is a product-focused engineer with experience developing predictive auction products and working with venture capital. Evan is an avid art and math lover and holds a BS from UC Berkeley, where he studied a mix of ME and Computer Science with a focus on Robotics.

  • Stani Kulechov
    Founder/CEO, Aave
    Stani Kulechov is the founder and CEO of Aave and ETHLend. He is a seasoned entrepreneur with extensive experience developing technology in the crypto, blockchain, and fintech space. Stani is also a mentor to many founders and advisors of ICOs and blockchain projects and has spoken at numerous FinTech, Blockchain and cryptocurrency events, particularly on topics related to Ethereum Smart Contracts.
  • Uri Kolodny
    Co-Founder/CEO, Starkware
    Uri is a co-founder and CEO at StarkWare, and a member of its Board of Directors. Uri is a serial entrepreneur, who has co-founded several technology companies, among them OmniGuide (an MIT spinoff developing optical fibers for endoscopic surgery), and Mondria (developer of tools for visualization of big data). Previously, Uri also served as an EIR with two Israeli VC firms, and as an analyst at McKinsey. He holds a B.Sc. in Computer Science from the Hebrew University, and an MBA from MIT Sloan.
  • Adam Jackson
    Co-Founder/CEO Braintrust
    Adam Jackson is a serial technology entrepreneur and investor that has spent his career creating and deploying capital into software systems that make complex tasks simple and intuitive. He’s started 4 VC-backed companies and an asset management company over the last 16 years. Since August, 2017 he has served as Managing Partner & CTO of Cambrian Asset Management, a blockchain asset management company. Adam is also co-founder and CEO of Freelance Labs, Inc., the company building a new tokenized talent network called Braintrust which raised a $5m seed round in 2018. In 2012, he co-founded and served as CEO of Doctor On Demand, a healthcare service that provides Video Visits with board-certified physicians and psychologists. He is an angel investor in 45+ companies/projects, including: LTSE, Seated, Bolt, Placer, Aktana, Skale Labs, Protocol Labs, JCTurbo, Apero Health, Rapportive, MyTime, Automatic, Womply, Superhuman and Zenefits.
  • Ioannis Giannaros
    Co-Founder/CEO, Wyre
    Ioannis Giannaros the co-founder of Wyre, an exchange that offers crypto to fiat and compliance solutions via API and dashboard, recently transitioning into his role as CEO after 7 years as COO. Since its inception, Wyre has become a leading infrastructure provider in crypto, trading over $3.5 billion in cryptocurrency assets and completing over $750 million in bank-to-bank FX payments. Prior to Wyre, Ioannis founded ASPRO SEO, an internet marketing consultancy and Startup Loft Properties. He holds a Bachelor’s degree in Business Administration from Towson University.

    CEO, Wintermute
    Evgeny is co-founder and CEO of Wintermute. Evgeny has 15+ years of experience growing fintech businesses. He has consistently grown market share in Europe’s top fiat exchanges, developed and executed ambitious expansion projects and led agile cross-functional teams. Prior to founding Wintermute, Evgeny built and ran Optiver’s European ETF business (HFT and OTC) – one of the largest in the EU. Evgeny holds a MSc in Finance and an EMBA from London Business School.
  • Alex Fowler
    CEO, Transparent Systems
    Alex Fowler is the CEO of Transparent Financial Systems. He co-Founded Blockstream and previously held executive roles at Mozilla, PwC, EFF, and Zero Knowledge Systems. He began his career with the American Association for the Advancement of Science and holds degrees from Brown University and George Washington University.

    CEO, Brave
    Brendan Eich is an American technologist and the creator of JavaScript, one of the most widely used programming languages in the world. He co-founded the Mozilla Project, the Mozilla Foundation, and the Mozilla Corporation, serving as both CTO and CEO. Currently, he is the CEO of Brave Software, a free and open-source web browser that blocks ads and website trackers while providing a way for users to send cryptocurrency contributions in the form of Basic Attention Tokens to websites and content creators.

    Rune Christensen is Chief Executive Officer and Cofounder of MakerDAO. MakerDAO issues Dai, the world’s first stablecoin on the Ethereum blockchain, that eliminates volatility through a system of smart contracts designed to respond t o market dynamics.Since 2015, Christensen has focused on establishing the vision and organizational structure of the Maker Decentralized Autonomous Organization and the economic foundations of the Dai stable digital currency. Previously, he served as co-founder of Try China, a company providing international recruiting. He studied Biochemistry at the University of Copenhagen and studied International Business at the Copenhagen Business School.
  • Tom Chippas
    CEO, ErisX
    Thomas Chippas is Chief Executive Officer at ErisX. Thomas Chippas was Managing Director and Global Head of Quantitative Prime Brokerage at Citi and held the same position at Barclays. In addition to leading electronic trading roles on the sell side, Mr. Chippas was CEO of Citadel Technology and COO of Axoni, a leading distributed ledger technology firm focused on derivatives processing. Mr. Chippas holds a B.S in Accounting from the University of Illinois and has served on multiple boards and advisory groups of fintech firms and exchanges.
  • Andy Bromberg
    CEO, Eco
    Andy Bromberg is the CEO of Eco, a digital global currency that aims to fix existing pain points in Bitcoin and Ethereum. Prior to Eco, he co-founded CoinList, a platform for digital asset companies to run their token sales. Andy was also the CEO and Co-founder of Sidewire. He holds a Bachelor’s degree from Stanford, where he studied Mathematics and Computer Science and started the Stanford Bitcoin Group.
  • Neil Bergquist
    Founder/CEO, Coinme
    Neil Bergquist is founder and CEO of Coinme, a leading digital currency exchange aimed at increasing the accessibility of digital currencies. Through his leadership, Coinme now operates the largest network of bitcoin kiosks in the world. Prior to Coinme, he has held prominent positions in a variety of organizations, spanning non-profits and management consultancy.
  • Mike Belshe
    Co-Founder/CEO, BitGo
    Mike Belshe is the Co-Founder and CEO of BitGo, one of the largest and most prominent cryptocurrency custodian service providers used by many exchanges and funds. He is the driving force behind BitGo’s product and business strategy for delivering security, compliance, and custodial solutions for blockchain-based currencies. Prior to BitGo, Belshe was one of the first engineers dedicated to building Chrome at Google. He is creator of the SPDY protocol and lead author of HTTP/2.0—the internet protocol responsible for loading web pages today. In 2003, Mike co-founded Lookout Software—an email search company acquired by Microsoft—and has held management positions at several startups, including Netscape, Good Technology, and Critical Path.

    Darshan Bathija is the co-founder and CEO of Vauld, a blockchain-based lending platform. He started off as an investment professional with Piramal Finance and moved onto head partnerships for TapChief – an early-stage startup funded by Blume Ventures.
  • Bill Barhydt
    CEO, Abra
    Bill Barhydt is founder and CEO of Abra, a peer-to-peer digital money-transfer network, and chairman of Boom Financial, which offers mobile banking for the unbanked, replacing cash services with a federally insured, smartphone-based bank account. Barhydt’s passion is information technology and how it can be used to improve lives. He is an advisor and investor in many companies in the payments, telecom and consumer Internet sectors and in 2012 gave the first-ever TED talk on Bitcoin. He has also consulted to federal and international regulators on the impact of digital currencies and decentralized transaction systems. Barhydt was an early employee of Netscape, where he designed hosted systems for telecom companies and retail banks. He worked for Goldman Sachs designing trading systems and was a research engineer for NASA and the CIA. In 2000, Barhydt received the Technology Pioneer Award from the World Economic Forum for his work in online collaboration at WebSentric, the world’s first online meeting service.
  • Sam Bankman-Fried
    Co-Founder, FTX
    Sam Bankman-Fried is the founder of crypto-derivatives platform FTX. FTX trades futures on cryptocurrencies. He is also the founder and CEO of quantitative crypto trading firm Alameda Research, managing $2.5 billion in assets, mostly from the Serum (SRM) coin that Bankman-Fried helped create.

    CEO/Founder, Circle
    Jeremy Allaire is Co-Founder and CEO of Circle, a global financial technology firm that enables businesses of all sizes to harness the power of stablecoins and public blockchains for payments and commerce. Previously, Mr. Allaire co-founded and led multiple global internet technology companies with thousands of employees, hundreds of millions of consumers served, and multiple successful public offerings on NASDAQ. He has provided expert testimony on digital assets and monetary policy before the US Senate Committee on Homeland Security & Government Affairs, US Senate Banking Committee, and he has been named to the International Monetary Fund (IMF) High-Level Advisory Group on FinTech. Mr. Allaire provides perspective and policy recommendations at the highest levels inside financial bodies across the US, UK, and Europe.
